Surge Generator

The SG61000-5 series Surge Generator (designated as a Lightning Surge Immunity Tester, Combination Wave Generator, or Combined Voltage and Current Surge Generator) constitutes a fully integrated, automated electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test instrument. Its primary function is to replicate high-energy transient disturbances resulting from natural lightning induction and the switching operations of substantial inductive and capacitive loads. This equipment evaluates the immunity characteristics of power supply lines and internal wiring within electronic and electrical equipment (EUT) against such disturbances, thereby establishing a standardized test environment for electromagnetic immunity compliance verification.

The SG61000-5 series Surge Generator is engineered to accommodate diverse voltage and current output requirements, with capabilities extending to 0-30kV and 0-15kA. It supports standardized waveform outputs including 1.2/50μs and 10/700μs (open-circuit voltage) and 8/20μs and 5/320μs (short-circuit current). The integrated system incorporates voltage and current attenuator probes alongside a digital oscilloscope, enabling direct waveform visualization on the LCD touchscreen interface without requiring external measurement instruments.
