The LS-ISO5659 NBS Smoke Density Chamber is engineered to quantify the smoke density produced by the combustion or radiation of cables or materials within a controlled environment. Utilizing the attenuation of an optical beam through smoke, it calculates the optical and smoke density ratio. It features a conical radiation furnace with a heat flux density reaching up to 50 kW/m². The sample is positioned horizontally, allowing for the assessment of mass loss rate. Standards: • ISO 5659-1:2024: Plastics – smoke – Part 1: Optical Density Test Principle • ISO 5659-2:2017: Plastics smoke generated -Part 2: single box test to obtain optical density of the material Chamber Structures: • The tester comprises a cabinet, sample case, radiation cone, igniter, light source, measuring device, and control devices; • Ergonomic structural and control design; full-open door design for easy access; optimized operation process; • Equipped with a full-open door for convenient sample loading/unloading and chamber cleaning; • Front door includes a hinge with a window and an opaque shading plate to block light; • Controller is side-mounted for ease of use without obstructing view when the door is closed; • Safety flameout board is replaceable and enhances operational safety; • Gas measurement port available for toxicity testing; • Chamber is easy to clean with a chemically resistant coating. Combustion means: • Heating cone: Power 2600W, input temperature range 0 ~ 1000 ºC, stable within ± 2 ºC in 50 minutes, providing irradiance of 10KW/m²-50KW/m²; • The use of mass fl…
