Standardized Test Procedure
- Test Specimen Preparation: Secure the test plug within the sample fixture, ensuring the plug surface is flush with the plate’s bottom surface. Insert the test plug pins through the designated plate holes, then pass the alignment rod through all plug pin holes. Attach the digital force gauge to the top ring assembly.
- Force Measurement – Test Plug: Apply controlled tensile force via the digital force gauge and record three consecutive force measurements following standardized pull procedures.
- Reference Plug Testing: Secure the certified reference plug within the sample fixture, ensuring surface flush alignment. Pass the alignment rod through the reference plug hole, attach the digital force gauge to the top ring assembly.
- Force Measurement – Reference Plug: Apply controlled tensile force via the digital force gauge and record three consecutive force measurements following standardized pull procedures.
- Data Analysis: Compare force values obtained from test plug measurements (Step 2) with reference plug measurements (Step 4) in accordance with IEC 60884-1 Annex B requirements and IEC 60884-1 Figure B.1 specifications.
